Jackson Taylor MP Visit

It was great to host Jackson Taylor, our local member of Parliament, during our first term. Jackson took the time to post on our Facebook page, these were his thoughts.

 

"Think positive" is the best way to encapsulate Mountain District Community College - a whole of person well-being focused school, catering for young people who have complex needs that may not fit into a 'typical' classroom. It was great to get a guided tour of their new premises with principal, Elise, assistant principal Allan and chair of the board, Chris.

Bright, open spaces greet their students - and with 16 staff, they're able to have appropriately modify curriculum with hands on learning.

Because, of course, each student and their needs are different - and the work that MDCC and team do makes a massive difference in an at-risk young person's life.

Their new home is in the heart of Boronia - and I just know they'll go from strength!

 

We thank him for making time in his busy schedule and no doubt will seek his governments support in years to come.
